Safety Training
The Safety and Loss Control Department provides a number of targeted training programs to assist FSBIT 's members in keeping their injuries low and costs lower. Training is offered without charge to member districts. Course completions are tracked for risk management purposes and each district has the option of reviewing all participant records online at any time.
Districts using FSBIT Safety Training programs report significant drops in the number and severity of claims. In addition, data collected from FSBIT tracking software enable our analysts to pinpoint the types of injuries occurring in schools so that targeted training programs may be developed and implemented.
Training programs completed or in development at district request include:
- Electrical Safety for Custodial & Maintenance Staff
- Playground Supervision
- Back Safety for Custodial and Maintenance Staff
- Common School Safety Hazards
- Hazard Communications Training
- Principal's Recognition of Hazards
- Breaking Up School Fights
- Proper Lifting for the Instructional Staff
